Obituary, Corydon Democrat, August 6, 2003 Joseph S. Nye Died: Sunday, August 03, 2003 Joseph S. Nye, 75, New Albany, died Sunday, Aug. 3, at his home. A native of Corydon, he was a retired boilermaker with Local 374 in Hammond, a retired pipefitter with Local 522 in Lousiville, a member of Masonic Lodge in Henryville and a 32nd degree Mason at the Valley in Indianapolis. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in New Albany. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Nye. Surviviors include his wife, Betty Sue Nye; two sons, Gregory N. and Joseph C. Nye, both of New Albany; three brothers, Gene (Nick) and George Nye, both of Corydon, and J.R. Faith of New Albany; a sister, Molly Nye of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren and a great-grandson. Memorial service will be at a later date. The body was cremated. Generations Funeral Home in New Albany is handling the arrangements. The family suggests as a memorial to him to do a good deed for someone. Mr. Nye requested that expressions of sympathy be made by doing a good deed for someone.
