In the 1930 US Federal Census for Judsonia, Harrison, White, Arkansas, 26-year-old Arkansas-born James M and his 24-year-old Arkansas-born wife Mabel V [Keith] Fletcher were married whan he was 21- and she was 19-years old. They have in their household their Arkansas-born children 4-year 4-month old Ella May, 2-year 8-month old James Jr and one-year 8-month old Billie, and James' married sister-in-law 22-year-old Arkansas-born Wilma C Lammons. The household is living in a rented house, for which James pays $6 a month. All the adults can read, write and speak English. James is a farm laborer and has worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. He has not served in the military. Mabel and Wilma's father was born in Tennessee and their mother in Missouri; everyone else's parents were born in Arkansas. Obituary Ella Mae Rooks Ella Mae Rooks of Gillett died Dec. 29 [2007]. She was born Dec. 11, 1925, to James M. "Jim" and Mabel Fletcher. She donated her body to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for research. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wesley Rooks; a sister, Reva Fletcher of Little Rock; sisters-in-law Carolyn Fletcher of Little Rock, Gracie Wheeler of Searcy, Wanda Fletcher of Prague, OK, and Patsy Davis of Paris, AR; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews; an uncle James Keith of Vacaville, CA; a special cousin Millicent Chapman of St. Joseph, MI; and many other cousins. A memorial service will be held at Gillett United Methodist Church, Gillett, at 10 a.m., Jan. 5, with Rev. Steve Copley officaitng. Memorials may be made to Gillett United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 401, Gillett, AR 72055 or a charity of the donor's choice. The family will be at 23 Colony Road, Little Rock, 72227, before and after the service.
