In the 1910 US Federal Census for Cauthron, Scott, Arkansas, 37-year-old Arkansas-born William W and his 37-year-old Arkansas-born wife Manerva [sic] E [McCaslin] Baker have been married sixteen years and have had nine children, six are living. These six children are 15-year-old Pauline, 10-year-old Monroe, 8-year-old Elsie J [Essie?}, all born in Oklahoma, and 5-year-old Dovie L, 4-year-old Virgil D and 2-year-old Lois, all born in Arkansas. William is doing "general farming" on land he owns, free of mortgage. Monroe is a farm hand, working the "home farm". William, Minverva, Pauline and Monroe can read, write and speak English. Pauline, Monroe, Elsie and Dovie have attended school in the past year. William's parents were born in Tennessee; Minerva's parents were born in Arkansas [sic]; the children's parents were born in Arkansas.
