In the 1880 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 64-year-old Kentucky-born Jane A Louis [sic] [Hobaugh Lewis] is keeping house for a household that consists of two of her Arkasas-born children, 30-year-old Malinda and 27-year-old James H and her 66-year-old Kentucky-born brother P C [Philip] Hobaugh. Philip has "lost a leg". Jane and Philip's father was born in Pennsylvania and their mother in North Carolina. Malina and James' parents were born in Kentucky. Living on the next two farms are Jane's daughters Henretta [sic] [Lewis] McCaslin and Manerva [Lewis] Temple and their families. The next household contains 34-year-old Arkansas-born farm laborer A. J. [Andrew Jackson] and his 33-year-old Missouri-born wife Henrietta [Lewis] McCaslin have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 11-year-old David, 9-year-old Sarah, 7-year-old Manerva, 5-year-old Malissa and one-year-old Tennessee. David, Sarah and Manerva have attended school in the past year. Andrew's parents were born in Indiana [sic]; Henrietta's father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother in Kentucky; the children's father was born in Arkansas and their mother in Missouri. Francis, Charles and Sarah have attended school in the past year. In the 1900 US Federal Census for Oliver Springs, Crawford, Arkansas, 44-year-old [sic] Arkansas-born farmer William A and his 47-year-old [sic] Alabama-born wife Clasy [sic Clarrissa Taylor] Temple have been married nineteen years. Clarrissa has borne seven children and all are living with them. These Arkansas-born children are 17-year-old farm laborer James, 15-year-old Ethel, 13-year-old Martha, 12-year-old Lizzie R, 10-year-old Charles, 6-year-old Ella and 5-year-old Cara. James and Ethel have attended school three months of the past year, while Martha, Lizzie, Charles, and Ella have attended four months of the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English except the two youngest children, Ella and Cara. William is farming rented land. William's father was born in Tennessee and his mother in Virginia; Clarrissa' father was born in Alabama and her mother in Georgia. Clarrissa has borne eight children, but only seven are living. The Arkansas-born children living with them are 21-year-old Lizzie, 19-year-old farm laborer Charles, 17-year-old Ella and 15-year-old Carrie [sic]. Ella and Carrie have attended school in the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English. William is farming land he owns, free of mortgage. William's father was born in Tennessee, his mother's birthplace is left blank; Clarrissa' father was born in Tennessee [sic] and her mother in Georgia. The children's father was born in Arkansas and their mother in Alabama. In the 1920 US Federal Census for Oliver Springs, Crawford, Arkansas, 62-year-old Arkansas-born farmer W A [William A] and his 64-year-old Alabama-born wife Claricy [sic Clarrissa Taylor] Temple have in their household their 24-year-old Arkansas-born unmarried daughter Carrie, and their 14-year-old Arkansas-born granddaughter Flora Bell. Flora has attended school in the past year. William is a farmer. Carrie is a laborer in a garment factory. Everyone is literate and speaks English. William's parents were born in Tennessee; Clarrissa' father was born in Tennessee [sic] and her mother in Georgia.; Carrie's father was born in Arkansas and her mother in Alabama; Flora's parents were born in Arkansas.
