Shared note
In the 1910 US Federal Census for Hanson, Sequoyah, Oklahoma, 41-year-old Arkansas-born farmer David E and his 45-year-old Missouri-born wife Nancy E [Lane Ridenour] McCaslin have been married 11 years. This is a first marriage for David, but a second for Nancy, who has had two children. It is not noted if these Ridenour children are living or dead. Also in this household is 9-year-old Oklahoma-born Nora [transcribed Nova] and 20-year-old Arkansas-born Thurman Carney. Nora is described as David's step-daughter, but she is David's step-granddaughter, being the daughter of Nancy's daughter Lucy Ridenour Miller. David is a laborer for the railroad, and Thurman is a servant in a private family. Neither have had any monthe out of work in the past year. This household is living on a rented farm. All the adults can read, write and speak English. Nora has attended school in the past year. David's parents were born in Arkansas, Nancy's father in Tennessee and her mother in Indiana [sic], Nora's mother in Oklahoma [sic] and her father in Missouri, and Thurman's father was born in the United States and his mother in Arkansas.
