George is farming rented land. The family came to Kansas from Oklahoma. In the 1920 US Federal Census for Sullivan, Grant, Kansas, Tennessee-born 59-year-old farmer George H and his 46-year-old [sic] Missouri-born second wife Carrie M [Grown] Brewer have in their household 19-year-old Oklahoma-born Rachel M Brewer who cannot be George and Carrie's child as they have only been married 10 years, but she could be Carrie's daughter from her first marriage, and their two children, 13-year-old Oklahoma-born Eual P and 9-year-old Kansas-born Burnice [sic]. Eual and Burnice have attended school in the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English. George is farming land he owns, which has a mortgage. George's parents were born in North Carolina, Carrie's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Missouri, all the children's fathers were born in West Virginia [sic] and their mothers in Missouri.
