On 3 May 1904, George H Brewer and Carry [sic] Grown [sic] apply for a marriage license in Craig County, Oklahoma. In the 1910 US Federal Census for Sullivan, Grant, Kansas, Tennessee-born 49-year-old farmer George H and his 39-year-old Missouri-born second wife Carrie M [Grown] Brewer have been married five years and have had one child who is living. This is a second marriage for both of them. In their household are some of George and Cyntha's Oklahoma-born children, 17-year-old farmer John, 13-year-old Oscar, and 11-year-old Sam, and George and Carrie's son, 3-year-old Oklahoma-born Eula P. George is missing from the family as he is in Garden City, Filley, Kansas working as a cook in a private family. Oscar and Sam have attended school in the past year. Everyone, except baby Eula, can read, write and speak English. George owns his farm, free of mortgage. George's parents were born in North Carolina, Carrie's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Missouri, John, Oscar and Sam's father was born in Tennessee and their mother in Oklahoma, and Eula's father was born in Tennessee and his mother in Missouri. In the 1915 Kansas State Census for Sullivan, Grant, Kansas, 55-year-old Tennessee-born farmer G H [sic] and his second wife 43-year-old Missouri-born Carrie [Jarboe Grown] Brewer have in their household George's son by his first wife Cyntha McCaslin, 15-year-old Oklahoma-born Sam, 14-year-old Oklahoma-born Rachael Brewer who can't be George and Carrie's child, and their children 8-year-old Oklahoma-born Eual and 4-year-old Kansas-born Burnice [sic]. George is farming rented land. The family came to Kansas from Oklahoma. In the 1920 US Federal Census for Sullivan, Grant, Kansas, Tennessee-born 59-year-old farmer George H and his 46-year-old [sic] Missouri-born second wife Carrie M [Grown] Brewer have in their household 19-year-old Oklahoma-born Rachel M Brewer who cannot be George and Carrie's child as they have only been married 10 years, but she could be Carrie's daughter from her first marriage, and their two children, 13-year-old Oklahoma-born Eual P and 9-year-old Kansas-born Burnice [sic]. Eual and Burnice have attended school in the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English. George is farming land he owns, which has a mortgage. George's parents were born in North Carolina, Carrie's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Missouri, all the children's fathers were born in West Virginia [sic] and their mothers in Missouri.
