Shared note
In the 1850 US Federal Census for Jasper, Crawford, Arkansas, 49-year-old Virginia-born farmer Matthew Henderson has no land of value recorded. He and his 40-year-old Virginia-born wife Mary [maiden name unknown] Henterson have in their household their Virginia-born children, 19-year-old laborer James P, 17-year-old Nancy J, 16-year-old Alcinda, 15-year-old laborer John H, 13-year-old William J, 12-year-old Martha E, 10-year-old Phebe N, and 5-year-old Eliza. William, Martha and Phebe have attended school in the past year. Matthew is illiterate. In the 1860 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 21-year-old Tennessee-born farmer William Temple owns $50 of personal property, but no land of value. He and his 19-year-old Virginia-born wife Phebe M [sic] [Henderson] Temple have in their household two Arkansas-born children, 4-year-old Mary E Seagraves and 3-year-old William Seagraves whose relationship to William and Phebe I do not know. William and Phebe are living next door to her parents and siblings. Phebe [Henderson} Temple died July 1866 in Crawford County, Arkansas.
