He and his 32-year-old Arkansas-born wife Winny [sic Nancy] [McCaslin] Temple have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 2-year-old F M [Francis Marion] and 1-year-old B F [Benjamin Franklin]. William is a male citizen of the USA who is 21 years or older. In the 1880 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 41-year-old [sic] Tennessee-born farmer William and his 41-year-old [sic] Arkansas-born wife Winnie [Nancy McCaslin] Temple have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 12-year-old Francis and 10-year-old Benjamin, and William's 75-year-old [sic] Virginia-born widowed mother, Mary [Lee] Temple. Francis and Benjamin have attended school in the past year, but cannot read or write. William's father was born in Georgia and his mother in Virginia, Winnie's parents were born in Indiana [sic] Mary's parents were born in Virginia and the children's father in Tennessee and their mother in Arkansas. Benjamin Franklin Temple died 14 Aug 1890, and was buried in Morrison Cemetery, Crawford County, Arkansas. His tombstone reads: "Benjamin F, Son of Wm & Winnie Temple, Died Aug 14 1890, AGED 21 years, 5 days. . __ . Delight from our household is going, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our hearts, that can never be filled."
