[Nancy E], 12-year-old James B, 9-year-old Missourie [sic] and 16-year-old nephew and farm laborer Silas Blue. Nancy was born in Missouri, but the rest of the children were born in Arkansas. Samuel Sr's parents were born in Tennessee; Nancy Seratt's parents' birthplaces are unknown; their children's father was born in Tennessee and their mother in Ohio; Silas Blue's parents' birthplaces are unknown. Living next door are Samuel and Nancy's 22-year-old Missouri-born farm laborer son, Samuel P and his wife 18-year-old Texas-born Annie M [maiden name unknown] Lane. Samuel Jr's father was born in Tennessee and his mother in Ohio; Annie's father was born in Massachusetts [?] and her mother in Ohio. In the 1900 US Federal Census for Township 12, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, 27-year-old Arkansas-born farmer James B and his 39-year-old Arkansas-born wife Melvina M [McCaslin Johnson] Lane have been married eight years. Melvina has borne six children, four are living [one of these dead children may be from her first marriage to Alexander Johnson]. They have three children in their household, 6-year-old Arkansas-born Mary I [sic], 5-year-old Arkansas-born Jennie D and a new-born unnamed daughter [Ona] who was born in Indian Territory. Ona and Sarah have attended school in the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English. James is doing "general farming" on rented land. James' father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Kansas [sic]; Melvina's parents were born in Missouri [sic]; the children's parents were born in Arkansas. In the 1930 US Federal Census for Blue Mound, Wagoner, Oklahoma, 56-year-old Arkansas-born farmer James B Lane and 69-year-old Arkansas-born Minerva M {McCaslin Johnson] Lane were married when he was 21- and she was 31-years-old. They are living on a rented farm and they do not have a radio. Both are literate and speak English. James was employed in general farming on the last regulaly scheduled work day. He has not served in the military. James' father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Tennessee; Minerva's parents were born in Missouri[sic]. James born 7 Nov 1869, died 27 Jan 1950 and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Wagoner, Wagoner, Oklahoma, next to his wife, Minerva M [McCaslin Johnson] Lane.
