In the 1900 US Federal Census for Waring, Ness, Kansas, 37-year-old Illinois-born farmer Orson L and his 27-year-old Indiana-born wife Cordie [Cordelia Snodgrass] Sidebottom have been married eleven years and have had four children, all are living with them. These Kansas-born children are 9-year-old Milo, 4-year-old Lida C, 2-year-old Felix O, and 3-month old George E. None of the children has attended school in the past year. Orson and Cordie can read, write and speak English. Orson is farming land he owns, free of mortgage. Orson's parents were born in Kentucky, Cordie's parents in Indiana, and the children's father was born in Illinois and their mother in Indiana.
