In the 1900 US Federal Census for Cleveland, Owen, Kentucky, 57-year-old Vermont-born [sic] farmer William and his 54-year-old Kentucky-born wife Sarah [Long] McCastleine [sic McCasland] have been married 40 years and have had ten children, only eight are living [I can account for only seven children]. The only child living with them is 15-year-old Kentucky-born Emma. William is farming rented land. Everyone can read, write and speak English. William's parents were born in Vermont [sic], Sarah's in Kentucky and Emma's in Kentucky [sic]. On 9 Sep 1900, 27-year-old Jessie [sic] McAully [sic McAnally] marries 18-year-old [sic] Emma McCasland in Owen County, Kentucky. In the 1910 US Federal Census for Cleveland, Owen, Kentucky, 69-year-old Missouri-born [sic] house carpenter Billy [sic William] and his 66-year-old Sarrah [sic] [Long] McCasland have been married 50 years and have had eight children, five are living. One, their divorced daughter, 25-year-old Kentucky-born Emma McCasland McAnally, is living with them. Emma has had three children and all are in this household, 8-year-old Kentucky-born William, 6-year-old Kentucky-born Scottie, and 7-month old Floyd McAnally. William and Scottie have attended school in the past year. Living next door to William and Sarah are their son-in-law Charles McAnally, daughter Jennie [Jane McCasland] McAnally and their family. On 26 Jul 1912, 27-year-old Charley Wainscott marries 27-year-old Emmer [sic] McCasland [sic] in Owen County, Kentucky. In the 1920 US Federal Census for Owenton, Owen, Kentucky, 45-year-old Kentucky-born farm laborer Charles and his 35-year-old Kentucky-born wife, Emma McCasland McAnally Wainscott have in their household Emma's Kentucky-born children, 18-year-old general laborer Willie, 16-year-old Scottie and 10-year-old Floyd McAnally [recorded as McNally], and their Kentucky-born children, 5-year Leona F and 7-month old Evelyn Wainscott. Charles, Emma, Willie, Scottie and Floyd can read, write and speak English. Everybody's parents were born in Kentucky. In the 1930 US Federal Census for Owenton, Owen, Kentucky, 51-year-old [sic] Kentucky-born Charlie and his 45-year-old Kentucky-born wife Emma [McCasland McAnally] Wainscott where married for the first time when he was 34-years old and she was 28-years old. This may be a second marriage for him, but it definitely is for her as she was married at age 16 to Jesse McAnally. She married Charlie on 26 Jul 1912 when both of them were 27 [sic]. In their family are their Kentucky-born children, 15-year-old Leona and 10-year-old Evelyn and their grandson, 8-year-old Kentucky-born James Keith, Jr [his parents are currently unknown]. Leona, Evelyn and James have attended school in the past year. The family is living in a rented house on Perry Street, for which Charlie pays $8.00 rent per month. They do not own a radio. Charlie is an odd jobs man and Emma is a servant in a private home. Both have worked on the last regularily scheduled work day. Charlie has not served in the military. Everyone's parents were born in Kentucky. May Wainscott, aged 50 years, 8 months, 28 days died in Cincinnati General Hospital of myocarditis on 5 Feb 1936 at 3:20 pm as certified by Dr H H Langdon.
