On 21 Feb 1866, George King Snodgrass married Louisa Anna [sic] Nichols in Jefferson County, Indiana. In the 1870 US Federal Census for Eureka, Lander, Nevada 26-year-old Indiana-born smelter G K Snodgrass and his 26-year-old Georgia-born wife L Snodgrass are living in a rooming house. The other inhabitants are 38-year-old Kentucky-born teamster J Cummings, 45-year-old Sweden-born G Dalstrom, 40-year-old Illinois-born brickmaker W N Arington, and 40-year-old Pennsylvania-born brickmaker Eckternect [sic]. Louisiana [Nichols] Snodgrass (a longtime resident of Salt Lake, Utah) was the plaintiff in a divorce case in Salt Lake County, on charge of disertion of her husband, George K Snodgrass. This case was filed on 12 Nov 1871, and heard on 11 Dec 1871. The divorce decree was final as of 21 Mar 1872. Divorce was granted by Judge O F Strickland. Louisiana reclaimed ber maiden name, becoming Louisiana Nichols once more.
