In the 1910 US Federal Census for Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, 33-year-old Belgian-born (Flemish) Theodore F and his 28-year-old Pennsylvania-born wife May [sic] [maiden name unknown] Venckeleer have been married eight years and have had three children, two are living. These two children are 7-year-old Pennsylvania-born Josephine M and 2-year-old Indiana-born Rachel. The family is living in a rented house at 313 South Tacoma Avenue. Theodore immigrated to the United States in 1883 and he is a naturalized citizen. He is the manager of a cigar factory where he has worked the entire year. Theodore and Mae can read, write and speak English. Neither of their daughters is attending school. Theodore's parents were born in Belgium and Mae's in Pennsylvania. When 41-year-old Theodore Francis Venckeleer registers for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he states that he is living at 2354 Dearborn Street, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. that he was born 6 Feb 1877, that he is white and a naturalized citizen. He is a finisher for the Asker Company on Roosevelt Avenue. His nearest relative is his wife, Mae T Venckeleer who lives at the Dearborn address. His description is medium height and build with blue eyes and light hair. In the 1920 US Federal Census for Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, 42-year-old Belgian-born (Flemish) Theodore and his 38-year-old Pennsylvania-born wife Tillie M [Mae T] [maiden name unknown] Venckeleer have in their household their daughter, 17-year-old Pennsylvania-born Josephine M Venckeleer Harding, their son-in-law 20-year-old Indiana-born Harold Harding, their daughter, 12-year-old Indiana-born Rachel M, and their son 5-year 11-month old Indiana-born Theodore F. The family is living in a house at 2354 Dearborn Street that Theodore owns, free of mortgage. Theodore immigrated to the United States in 1891 [sic] and was naturalized in 1902. Rachel attended school in the past year. Theodore Sr is a machinist in a factory, Tille is a music teacher, and Harold is a fireman for a steamrailroad. Everyone except Theodore Jr can read, write and speak English. Theodore Sr's parents were born in Belgium and spoke Flemish. Tillie's [Mae] parents were born in Pennsylvania, and Harold's parents were born in Indiana. In the 1930 US Federal Census for Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, 40-year-old [sic] Pennsylvania-born [sic] Theodore F and his 33-year-old Indiana-born wife Elsie E [Eunice Elsie Law Major] Venckeleer were first married when he was 21-years old, whereas she was 22-years old. Their marriage is a second one for both of them. In their household is Eunice's son 9-year-old North Dakota-born Everett Major. The family is living at 2354 Dearborn Street, in a house that Theodore owns, worth $3,650. They have a radio. Theodore and Eunice can read, write and speak English. Everett has attended school in the past year. Theodore is a cigar maker in a factory, but hasn't worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. Eunice is an inspector in a machine shop and did work on the last regularly scheduled work day. Theodore has not served in the military. Theodore's parents were born in Belgium, Eunice's in Indiana, and Everett's father in the United States and his mother in Indiana. He was born 6 Feb 1887 [sic] in Antwerp, Belgium. The person who will always know his address is Eunice Elsie Venckeleer of 2354 N Dearborn. Theodore is employed by the Heacker Products Corporation at West Morris and Harding Street, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. His description is white, 5 feet 6 inches, 150 pounds, with blue eyes, grey hair and a light complexion. He has no obvious physical characteristics that will aid in identification.
