In the 1910 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson, Indiana, 38-year-old Indiana-born Elba L and his 38-year-old Indiana-born wife Zula [Francis] Branigin have been married fourteen years. Zula has born five children but only four are living. These four, all born in Indiana, are 12-year-old Gerald, 9-year-old Edgar, 7-year-old Roger and 8-month old Elba L Jr. The family is living at 320 Adams Street in a house that Elba owns, free of mortgage.
